Visual Records Develops Custom Software System for Electrical Contracting Company (05-Mar-2007) Visual Records has developed a custom software system, VR-MRP (Master Resource Planning), for J.E.T. (Jamar Electric Temecula), an electrical contracting company that provides services to home builders. Based in Temecula, California, the electrical contracting company services Riverside and San Bernardino counties and their clients include Woodside Homes, Greystone Homes by Lennar Homes, Brehm Communities, Warmington Homes, Island Pacific Builders and McMillin Homes. VR-MRP, a Windows based application, tracks foundational information such as suppliers and parts, but also variables such as part prices and unit prices. One of the primary objectives was to allow users to update their master parts pricing list so that the lowest cost supplier is selected for any given part. Users can also export their master price list and manage part categories, part types, device categories and code sets. Previously, Kevin Roberts, President of J.E.T., was using several different Excel spreadsheets to manage the company's information; however, with changing prices and the addition of new parts, it was becoming increasingly time consuming and difficult to manage all the information accurately. Through VR-MRP, they are now able to access all information in one program instead of having to look through several Excel spreadsheets. |
