Kaiser Permanente California Sites Upgrade to MedCorr 2.8 (29-June-2009)

Kaiser Permanente facilities in Southern and Northern California have upgraded their MedCorr Release of Information (ROI) software system to the newest version of MedCorr, Version 2.8. The facilities in Southern California have been using MedCorr, Version 2.7, since June of last year, while the facilities in Northern California have been using MedCorr 2.6 since 2007.

This upgrade includes more than 50 enhancements, which were specifically developed as a result of the increasing volume of sites using the ROI application and ongoing collaboration with managers and users. Many of the features and fields from previous versions such as shortcut keys, auto-completion and patient and request information are still being used. Some major changes include addition of FMLA forms from the Department of Labor, modification of request notes security, and the option of making a department private so that users from other departments cannot view or access their request information.

Another important new feature in this upgrade is an optional Form Filler module, which automatically enters certain patient or request information on a selected document, and an optional Legal Scheduling module, which allows users to manage legal scheduling information such as appointments, payments and invoices.

Currently, there are over 500 California users in various medical correspondence, insurance, disability, patient access, occupational health and psychiatric departments using MedCorr.
