Kaiser Permanente Southern California Sites Upgrade to MedCorr 2.9 (14-December-2010)

Kaiser Permanente facilities in Southern California have upgraded their MedCorr Release of Information (ROI) software system to the newest version of MedCorr, Version 2.9, which went live on December 9, 2010.

This upgrade includes more than 30 enhancements, which were specifically developed as a result of the increasing volume of sites using the ROI application and ongoing collaboration with managers and users. Many of the features and fields from previous versions such as shortcut keys, auto-completion and patient and request information are still being used. A Notifications page was added to the Help Menu, so users could easily find out the latest news and additions to the software system.

The following are several of the more crucial highlights:
  • Due to security and legal compliance purposes, there are several locked fields on the Patient and Request window, and only authorized users will be able to change these fields.

  • Other new features are the Copy Disability and Copy FMLA links. With these new features, users will be able to copy previous disability or FMLA information to a new request, which will save time.

  • Another new feature is the Customize link in the Correspondence window, where users can customize an existing correspondence letter/template and save their changes.

  • Three new reports for our Legal Scheduling module were added: A/R Aging, Calendar and Cash Receipts. With the A/R Aging and Cash Receipts reports, users can track what has been invoiced and paid. With the Calendar, users can generate a report showing what legal or deposition appointments are coming up next for easier follow-up.

  • Under the File Menu, users can select the Recent Patients option, which will show the last 15 searched/opened patient records.

  • Two optional modules are included: Form Filler module, which automatically enters certain patient or request information on a selected document, and the Legal Scheduling module, which allows users to manage legal scheduling information such as appointments, payments and invoices.
