VR-STREAM Controls Data Through Automated Fax Distribution (28-Nov-2006)
Visual Records has developed an electronic distribution and management software solution called VR-Stream.
The software product automates fax distribution by capturing and distributing data through a virtual fax
print server. Some of the features of the product include data capture, electronic signature, security,
and storage. The software product was initially developed for the University of California - San Diego,
Medical Genetics Department, in which office staff would retrieve reports, have doctors review and
electronically sign them and then, distribute them to designated recipients. If the document was somehow
delayed or if the sender sent it incorrectly, the sender could recall the fax and resend it properly. By
automating fax distribution, the product saves costs and time as well as allows users to manage their paper flow.
